What Happens After a Workshop?

The facilitators will coordinate with Friendship Collaborative program staff to organize voluntary follow-up activities. Materials and suggestions for voluntary post-workshop activities, such as co-writing op-eds or one-on-one discussion of shared topics of interest, will be provided at each event (see Resources section).

We encourage participants to continue the dialogue begun at the workshop, with scientists pairing up with faith leaders for future conversations and collaboration. Facilitators and participants can shape the nature of the follow up that best suits their particular circumstances. Read suggested follow-up topics (.doc) for these meetings by Stephen Weeks of the University of Akron.

University of Michigan’s Friendship Collaborative workshop leaders are planning a follow-up meeting for May 20, 2009 to discuss Carl Safina’s “Too Big to Fail Essay” (see our resources section for a link to this article).  For more information on the meeting, please contact Karen Healy (karen.healy@me.com).
